Hug-a-Bump® SPD Maternity Support Band- pregnancy support in 3 critical areas

Pregnancy support in 3 critical areas

Worn discreetly beneath your maternity clothes. The horrifying fact is that SPD symptoms effect 1 in 4 pregnancies.

Gill-  Maternity Reflexologist and Reiki Master  says " I think the most incredible thing about it is it puts you into the correct posture without having to try too hard - and that's what I need when my back is sore".

Jodie - a suffering Mum-to-be says I've been using the band whilst out & about. I find it comfy to wear whilst I'm walking about & i think it has helped with the pains..its good to have my belly lifted".

Hug-a-Bump® SPD Maternity Support - Pregnancy support in 3 critical areas

  1. Corsetry offers support to the lumbar region
  2. Short straps fit snuggly under the bump so supporting the hips and relieving pressure of the weight of your bump.
  3. Long upper straps hug your baby bump to you at right angles to relief the pelvic ligaments from taking weight strain

Level of Support Firm

CARE INSTRUCTIONS: Gentle Handwash or surface wash. Repeated machine washing or tumble drying will eventually miss-shape the straps ends

Size Guide

Hug-a-Bump® SPD Maternity Support Band  is now available in three sizes

Usual Dress Size 8 to 12 choose S/M

Usual Dress Size 12 to 18 choose L/XL

Usual Dress Size 18 to plus size 22+ XL/XXL

The two most important measurements for this product  are the likely size of your baby bump and the changes in our hip size. Your bump size measurement is unlikely to become larger than the standard largest size the bands long straps allow for. It may of course be smaller, hence the options available. This sizing is usually determined by your usual dress size. The measurement during your pregnancy that will differ most from your usual dress size, is the measurement around your hips. Hug-a-Bump® can be adjusted in this area to ensure a secure and comfortable fit.

The design is based on the average size of bumps measured at 15-20 weeks + (2nd trimester onwards) so if your bump is still small you can select small/medium or wait or adjust as detailed above.

This product is proven to offer great support following your pregnancy too and in cases of backpain and poor posture problems

Positioning

The most effective and comfortable position is to have the longer straps appear to be positioned at right angles to your spine, as if giving your baby bump a Hug!

The wide boned corset area is worn at the rear with the rounded shaped edge to the top. This supports the lower (lumber) region of the back. Ensuring the longer straps are above the lower shorter straps, position the long straps around the widest part of your bump as though 'hugging' your baby bump to you.

The strap with the short piece of velcro is postioned OVER the strap with the smooth softer velcro.

The shorter strap should fit securely and firmly across the hips, offering support under the bump

Hug-a-Bump®  is designed to support and immobilize the lumber region of the back (the small of the back) It will also help support the hips as well as hold your bump securely. It wont cure SPD or totally eradicate lower back pain but should go some way to relieving the symptoms of the problem.

It will offer support to your back whilst lightening the strain by supporting your growing bump.
Hug-a-Bump®   has been created in smooth soft fabric to sit securely under maternity clothes for your comfort

The second generation band is embellished with caramel lace for extra glamour giving it the pretty look of lingerie. Hug-a-Bump® Lace .This item is designed to be worn against the skin under your maternity clothes.

If you find your size of band too large we will replace with the smaller size . Simply return it for exchange. Considering your purchase is to relief pain, that's also our aim!

I only managed to wear the grirdle for a couple of weeks before Emily arrived. I did wear it every day though and I found it to be very supportive and comfortable. Positive feedback: * Comfortable (better than the Mothercare one and the two from the physio) I think it was due to the soft material you used and the velcro did not rub like the others. * Supportive The straps were in the right places and gave support in the back and under the bump * Discrete I wore this under my clothes, so other people were not even aware I had it on. * Not bulky The girdle lay flat and did not bulge and buckle like the other harder velcro belts I have tried. * Can be worn all daySome of the other belts I had to losen or take off if I sat or lay down because they were so uncomfortable. With your girdle I did not need to do this, occasionally I losened the lower velcro but because it is one item it did not all fall apart like other belts that come in several pieces.

"The belt is good, certainly a LOT more comfortable than any I have tried before and I have got on well with it so far, I have had to temporarily stop wearing it as I have had a major flare up and my pelvis is totally out of line at the moment, but I will be seeing physio as soon as my hormones settle to get myself realigned and am hoping the belt will help keep me there. I think during pregnancy it could be even more successful - its better than the god awful thing I was given when I fell pregnant, far more comfortable and easier to wear, and it looks nicer too".

suffering from a Double Hernia : I tried this product and its made a world of difference. I have now bought two Hug-a-Bump®s as I wish to wear the band continually, whilst one in the wash. This product is obviously very effective for anyone with a large bump of any kind upfront. This has made a great difference to me in offering both support and great comfort, thanks so much Rachel

I have had back pain since week 5 of my pregnancy and searched for a suitable back support for use during pregnacy and I found the Hug-a-Bump! I cant recommend this product highly enough, its practical, discreet and is so comfortable I can wear it at night while sleeping. I've been wearing it since week 18 and am now at week 35 and along with the back pain im also suffering with SPD, the joys of pregnancy! The Hug-a-Bump is really helping with the pain and mobility. Rachel (La Fee Noire) has been wonderful to deal with, if only all sellers on the internet were as dedicated and provided the customer service she does! I will recommend the Hug-a-Bump to any of my pregnant friends/family who have similar back pain :)

Belt received and loving it, wanted to comment but wanted to make sure i had the time to give it the justice it deserves, since i started wearing it i havnt had back ache at all, i just make sure when i need to do anything strenuous i wear it, so pleased and so glad i found ur site,Xx what i find most amazing about this product, is since wearing it ive hardly had to use it, it was as if all my back problems were cure by spending some time correctly positioned, whenever i need to do something which i know is going to cause me backache (housework/shopping) i always make sure i use my belt and even though my pubis aches (have spd also) i have had no back ache at all, there was one point before i purchased the belt that i could hardly even walk because my back was in so much pain. I highly recommend this product, which is a great investment for future pregnancy's and also will be used when menstruation is due as i also suffer back ache this time and normally have to take anti inflammatory. I was so pleased that i was able to have it shipped to UAE as it saved me having to have it posted to my mum in UK and then shipped here, postage was reasonable also. thank you Rachel

It does take a while to adjust to wearing the belt, i found i was walking with my back arched backwards(if that makes sense) but after a few days, it was okay. the bottom belt i thought gave me great support to the bottom of my bump(im now 27 weeks) and i certainy didnt feel like i was carrying such a weight. overall, the best time wearing this belt was in the sitting position as the support to the bottom of the back is excellent. very firm and really made you feel like you were resting against a supportive board :)!
